MitID Erhverv as an Identity Proofing Service Provider (IPSP)

MitID Erhverv is certified as an identity proofing service provider in accordance with ETSI TS 119 461.

MitID Erhverv received official certification in March 2026 as an Identity Proofing Service Provider in accordance with:

  • eIDAS; regulation (EU) 910/2014 amended by Regulation (EU) 2024/1183
  • implementing regulation for Art 24(1c) - QTSPs Verification of identity attributes – (EU) 2025/1566
  • ETSI TS 119 461.

What does this mean in practice?

There are 2 levels of identity proofing in ETSI TS 119 461:

  • LoIP Extended
  • LoIP Baseline

LoIP stands for Level of Identity Proofing.

The majority of identities in MitID Erhverv meet "LoIP Extended" and may be used to issue qualified certificates.

The exception is certain identities created via a Local IdP, i.e. identities that log in under the "Local login" tab.

If the organisation is NSIS-notified only, but has not undergone an eIDAS conformity assessment:

  • Identities at "LoIP Baseline" may only be used to issue OCES certificates, not qualified certificates.

Please note that if the organisation is both NSIS-notified and eIDAS conformity-assessed, identities created via their local IdPs are at "LoIP Extended".
